Death Educationand preparation
Let’s Talk About Death
Death is a predictable ending to all living things. The tricky part about death is that we don’t know when or how it will unfold. Since it isn’t the most pleasant of topics to think about, most of us, in our North American culture, tend to exist in a place of denial when it comes to our own demise. This seems reasonable enough and yet, we do a disservice to not only ourselves but to our family and friends, as well.
Preparing for the Inevitable
“Ready Or Not!~ Preparing for the Inevitable” is a course that I spent countless hours researching, contemplating and developing to offer something practical and meaningful for my fellow mortals to prepare for their own deaths. We assume that all that is needed is a Will but there is so much more to know and think about. This course has participants actively exploring the practical preparations of death but also the emotional aspects that we are so masterful in denying. There are reflective exercises and homework to be completed so that by the end of the course, you will have created your own “Ready or Not Death Box.” This will be a gift to your family when your time comes. EVERYTHING they need to know about all aspects of YOUR dying, death and afterwards will be contained in this one resource. Guest speakers, meaningful conversations, up-to-date video clips and resources are all part of this unique and timely course. Death comes suddenly sometimes so assuming there will be time “to get your affairs in order” is nothing more than wishful thinking. The goal is to get this done long before you are dying.
What You Can Expect
One of the most incredible outcomes of this course, and I see it VERY early on, is the sense of relief and empowerment participants feel in not only getting their affairs in order but also confronting their own biases, opinions, fears and emotional hang ups they have around death. It is fascinating to witness the transformations that take place which result in people returning to their lives with a mission to live more fully and passionately.
The cost for the course is $250/ person (**sliding scale available to those experiencing financial hardship).
“It made me think more in depth than I had previously. The instructor was so knowledgeable and her delivery was exceptional. I have made positive and concrete decisions and even changed some of my decisions as a result of the course. I feel better that I’ve accomplished what needs to be done.”
~ Cindy, Class Particpant
“What an opportunity you have provided for us to grow, to learn and to ready ourselves and our families for a richer, more comfortable transition.”
~Paula, course participant
